http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=4011

Richard has been busy with administrative aspects of the E-HELP project. He has also been doing some research into how the material on Europe ’s Other Half could be organized.
I.2: John agreed to take responsibility for the Europe ’s Other Half section of the project. It was accepted that Juan Carlos’ interactive map of Europe might make a good index for the project. Video Interviews:
1.3: Zhenia Plotnikova demonstrated a video where she had interviewed three women about their lives in the Soviet Union . This included a filmed interview of a woman who served on the front line during the Second World War. It was agreed that members would attempt to carry out similar interviews with senior citizens. John, Anders and Nico all took away video cameras to complete this task.
New Themes
1.4: It was agreed that Europe ’s Other Half should be the major theme of the project. However, it was argued that there should be a series of minor themes. Subjects suggested included Childhood, Sport, Resistance and Migration.
E-HELP Course
1.5: A considerable amount of time was spent discussing the format and content of the E-HELP course we have to deliver.
John suggested that one feature of the course should be to provide each person who attends their own website. The course could then be organized in a way that would enable them to create this website during the course.
Richard argued for the use of keynote speakers. For example, one session could start with Russel giving a 15/30 minute talk on creating decision-making games. Those on the course would then go into small workshop groups where they would get the opportunity to create a decision-making game for their website.
Other sessions could include quizzes & crosswords, creating and editing videos, online simulations, forum supported activities, etc.
It was agreed that there would be a great demand for such a course. It was suggested that individual members might be interested in organizing parallel courses in their native language.
