Hi Zaher.

On this page you will find some documents and other material that you might have some use for. The first part focus on IBDP – ”IB3” and the second part focus on pre-IB – ”IB1”.

IB3 – IB DIPLOMA PROGRAM YEAR 2

When we talked I got the impression that you will work with HL and they will focus on ”Paper 3”. Under here I will publish the IB History Syllabus; the three parts Travis decided to focus on (but they just need two this year – it’s a limited exam); a ”Specimen Paper” that shows what the IB Exam paper looks like (unfortunately I only have ”History of Europe” – I don’t have any Exam Questions and Answers about the ”History of the Americas”) + the little material I have about Cuba and Castro. Since you plan to get the IBSL to study Paper One while IBHL is doing the History of the Americas I will also add a presentation of the Paper One + the first part of their textbook about Rwanda. At the very end you find the booklet I made for Travis when he decided what he wanted the IBDP classes to study:
1. History Syllabus 2017
2. Higher Level – History of the Americas
3. Specimen Paper 3 2017 Europe
4. Authoritarian And Single-Party States – Cuba and Castro – Allan Todd and Sally Walker – Cambridge 2011-1
5. Origins And Development Of Authoritarian And Single-Party States – Cuba and Castro – Michael Lynch – Hodder 2013
6. Conflict and Intervention Rwanda
7. IB HISTORY 2019-2021 – Booklet

IB1 – PRE-IB

Pre-IB does not have any textbooks as far as I know which makes the course for a substitute a little bit more complicated. When I talked with Tim (previous substitute) he said that they had just come to the Renaissance. As a help for who ever was going to substitute after Tim I put up Chapters from the textbook ”Living World History”. Here you have these chapters:
1. Chapter 13 Renaissance Chapter 14 The Reformation
2. Chapter 14 The Reformation
3. Chapter 15 The Age of Discovery
4. Chapter 16 The Power Struggles of European Kings
5. Chapter 17 Science and the Age of Reason
6. Chapter 18 The Age of Democratic Revolutions
7. Chapter 19 Reaction and Revolt After Napoleon
8. Chapter 20 The Growth of Nationalism and Democracy
9. Chapter 21 The Industrial Revolution, Science, and the Arts
10. Chapter 22 Movements of Social Protest

A few years ago I also downloaded this World History Book which might be of help:
1. Chapter 1 European Renaissance and Reformation 1300-1600
2. Chapter 2 The Muslim World Expands 1300-1700
3. Chapter 3 An Age of Explorations and Isolation 1400-1800
4. Chapter 4 The Atlantic World 1492-1800
5. Chapter 5 Absolute Monarchs in Europe 1500-1800
6. Chapter 6 Enlightenment and Revolution 1550-1789
7. Chapter 7 The French Revolution and Napoleon 1789-1815
8. Chapter 8 Nationalist Revolutions Sweep the West 1789-1900
9. Chapter 9 The Industrial Revolution 1700-1900
10. Chapter 10 An Age of Democracy and Progress 1815-1914
11. Chapter 11 The Age of Imperialism 1850-1914
12. Chapter 12 Transformations Around the Globe 1800-1914
13. Chapter 13 The Great War 1914-1918
14. Chapter 14 Revolution and Nationalism 1900-1939
15. Chapter 15 Years of Crisis 1919-1939
16. Chapter 16 World War II 1939-1945
17. Chapter 17 Restructuring the Postwar World 1945-Present
18. Chapter 18 The Colonies Become New Nations 1945-Present
19. Chapter 19 Struggles for Democracy 1945-Present
20. Chapter 20 Global Interdependence 1960-Present
21. Modern World History – Reference Section

Under here you will find some suggestions + material on how you can work sith some of the periods above. This will also include the 19th Century (I have not yet made pdf-files of these pages from ”Living World History” but I will asap). The period 1500-1800 was done as an ICT-presentation, but it’s not hard to make it into an essay-in-class instead. Just cover the changes in the society from the Renaissance up to the revolutions. Then focus on the American and French Revolutions and let the students compare/contrast them…
When you have looked through this material just let me know whatever documents you want me to publish on the ”open page” that the students have access to. If you have some documents of your own that you want there as well I can put them up. You can (of course) also create your own webpage or use Google Classroom…
